Hello, Katy.

My name is John Charles Fries, and I live in Timonium, MD, just north of Baltimore.

My father was Ralph John Fries, Jr., born in St. Alice's parish in Upper Darby, PA. Dad served in the US Army as a corporal in France in WWII.

His father was John Ralph Fries, who as an adult changed his name to Ralph John Fries, Sr. He served in the US Army as a balloonist/artillery observer instructor at Ft. Hood in Texas during WWI.

His father was your Charles Joseph Valentine Fries, MD, who was not only a physician, but was also a pharmacist. I have several pictures of Charles J. V.. I also have an original tin-type advertisement for a herbal remedy from his late 1800's pharmacy in Philly.

Charles' father was a Joseph Fries, who was born in Reading, PA.

Joseph's father was named John Fries. I'm interested in determining if this John may have some relationship to the John Fries of Fries' Rebellion.

I have more information on other branches of the family, going as far back as 1798.

Feel free to email me with any correspondence.

- John
