Hello Ray,

I just read your message in this forum. Althought I live in Brazil, I'm sure that I'm another descendent of this Friess branch of Germany. Many years ago, while living in Germany, I checked for the original spelling my ancestor's in historic german registers. It is "Frieā", which could be written as Friess at the time. After my family living for 3 generations in Brazil, the original name changed to "Fries" about 100 years ago.

There are other people of my family branch in this forum, which posted some questions to this group a few years ago but are still since then. On their files, they have a few thousand descendents of Family Friess, which were born and live in Brazil. Year after year, in September, there is a meeting of the members of this family with hundreds of people attending the invitation to participate.

I ordered the DNA kit to check male chromosome. It would be nice to see if we really have the same ancestors of the large Friess (Fries, Freese) family branch of the US.

But I still don't know how could I check the results after making the test. I will get back to you, if you are interested, when I will receive the results.

Regards

Carlos Fries

PS: Sorry about my English.
