Mr. Perry,

Are you familiar with the book "Deaths, Murders and Lynchings Abstracted from Lumpkin County, Georgia Newspapers", Vol 1, published, and Vol 2, unpublished, by Jimmy E. Anderson? It is indexed by name and you can find the closest to newspaper "obituary" type of information from the old "Mountain Signal" or "Nugget" in it--without having to scroll through rolls of microfilm. I don't have a copy of it, but Dahlonega library does.

They also have listings of burials in old cemeteries and microfilm of old issues of The Nugget. I think that the library may also have a subscription to Ancestry.com or genealogy.com for looking up old census records. The library staff is very helpful and they can probably guide you to other sources.

I looked in Cain's "History.." and it lists a Wm. C. Perry as having been called to serve on the Grand Jury in 1858 (this is on page 137--about 3rd line from bottom). Perhaps the G. was transcribed incorrectly as a "C" by Andrew Cain. There is also a William Perry listed as a school trustee for "Mill Creek"--by appointment of the Board of Education, May 6, 1884 (page 247).

Cain's "History..." also mentions some other Perry's: Erskine C. Perry, H. H.(Henry)Perry, and Sam C. Perry.
"Heritage of Lumpkin County, Georgia, 1832-1996" is indexed and shows several page listings related to the Perry or Hutcheson surname.

Happy "hunting" on your trip to Dahlonega.
