Looking for the Johnson's that lived in Hartwell, Georgia.
My gg John Timothy Johnson,Sr.(African American) (b1849 d?) married an Indian Squaw named Mary Adeleide or Adeline in the late 1880s. They had eleven children all born and raised in Hartwell, GA:
Fletcher
Dennis (b1896 - d1978)
Mamie (b1888 - d1971)
Minnie (b1900- d2000)
Bessie (b1897 - d1975)
Ollie
John Timothy (b1908 - d1997)
Idella Carrie (b1907 - d1984)(my grandmother)
Howard (who moved to Chicago in early 1900s)
Mattie (b1901 - d?)
Myra (died at birth)
Mary Adeleide died in 1918 or 1919 when my grandmother was only twelve years old. John Timothy Johnson, Sr. remarried and had other children with his second wife. Name of second wife unknown. Not sure if he remained in Hartwell or not. I do know that he owned farm land and sold his vegetables to earn money and feed his family.
