If you use the Social Security Death Index at http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ , you'll find (if you didn't know already) that your grandfather, Randolph R. Tolison, was born 9 July 1943 and died 6 July 2008. He filed for his SSN in Georgia, and the last known address the SSA had for him was in Winston, Douglas Co., GA. With that information, you could try to order his death certificate, find an obituary for him, or order a copy of his SSN application. Depending on who gave the information for his death certificate, it could or could not have much information. The same goes for an obituary, in fact, there may not be one if no one submitted one to a local newspaper. Your best bet might just be the SSN application, which he filled out himself.
