Yates and Ann did not have any children.
However in the 1900 census, living with Gates/Yates was a John WARLEY, 28, b Aug 1871, single, who was supposedly Yates' son-in-law.
If this is correct then Yates or Ann married young, had a daughter that married John then she died or they divorced. Perhaps, John and his wife had a child/children and he/she/they could be Yates' descendant/s if Mrs. Warley was Yates' daughter.
PS. Yates was 22, single, and a law student in the 1880 census. I don't know Ann's maiden name.
