In the 1880 census Elijah (H.) Gammon, age 38, and his father, Elijah (E.) Gammon were listed under the name CAMMON and living in Nelson, Lee, Illinois. Mathilda was the name of young Elijah's wife. In 1850 Elijah H. Gammon, age 18, was living with his father, Elijah E. Gammon, in Weld, Franklin, Maine. This Elijah H. is supposedly the same as Hanson/Hansen. His father's middle name is also given as Elder in some information. Marriage intentions for Elijah E. GAMMON of Weld and Hannah DUNTON of Mt. Vernon, Maine were filed in Mt. Vernon on 15 Jul 1822. The certificate was issued on 9 Sept 1822. Would like to know where in Illinois Elijah H. Gammon died and is buried - the Gammon Genealogy states Chicago, but would like proof.
