My husband's great-great uncle, Elijah H. Gammon wasn't born until 1832, so he is the other Elijah H. Gammon. He did live in IL and apparently died there, as did his father, Elijah E. Gammon. Mary Jane (Gammon) Peterson was the younger Elijah's sister and the great great grandmother of my husband. She and her family lived in Chicago for a short time in the early 1900s before returning to Maine.
