Dear Gardener/Gardner/Gardiner family researchers, I am a descendant of Deborah Gardiner (Gardner), who married Jacob Leslie in Port Mouton, Nova Scotia on Dec. 17, 1826. I have searched the Queens/Lunenburg Co., NS databases (plus other sources), but I cannot find any record of Deborah's parents. However, quite a few children were born to Jesse (originally from Maine) and Jane Gardner around the time of Deborah's birth (on Oct. 26, 1801). Could Deborah be their daughter? She named one of her sons, Gamaliel Gardner Leslie. Could this indicate she was related to another name I've found in my research, Gamaliel Gardiner of Port Mouton, Nova Scotia? I've also found a reference to Pardon Gardner in the 1870/1871 McAlpine's Maritime Provinces directory, p. 581, for Port Matoun (sic), Nova Scotia. Pardon is listed as a trader, while Gamaliel is listed as a farmer and fisherman. Any help with Deborah Gardner/Gardiner's ancestry would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Deborah Cordes Notify Administrator about this message?
