I'm hoping Garly L. GOSS is still delivering GOSS info on this board. After several years of fruitless searching, I think I've found my husband's great grandmother WITH her parents and first husband on the 1880 Census for Scott Co., MS.
She was Emily GAUSS (SB GOSS) / HARRELL / PUGH, b. 1868 in AL to John R. GOSS, b. 1812 in SC or GA + Mary A.UNKNOWN, b. 1835 in SC or GA. They are living nextdoor to the HARRELL family that I believe she married into.
HARRELL, Richard, age 39, b. MS
William, age 35, b.MS (husband of young Emily GOSS, m.1880)
Hariet, age 62, Mother, b. MS
H.C., age 23, sister, b. MS
So far, I have not been able to find them again until the 1900 Census of Wood Co., TX after Emily marries S.M. PUGH, (Samuel Mathew PUGH) The name is spelled PEW and Emily is listed as wife Annie L. but her 3 HAROLD (SB HARRELL) children are listed,
HAROLD, Minnie, S-Dau, W, F, MAY 1881, age 18, S, b. MS, father MS, mother AL
Walter W., S-Son, W, M, MAR 1883, age 17, S, b. MS, father MS, mother AL
Tilman, S-Son, W, S, JUN 1886, age 13, S, b. MS, father MS, mother AL
I'm hoping you can help with John R.'s GOSS parents or other info
