Hard to track Guise Family 1881 census

I wonder if anyone can help me.

I am trying to track down my partners GUISE family and so far am having no success.

William Walter Guise born circa 1855 married Alice Hassell born circa 1855 in 1877 Stafford. They had a son Ernest GUISE born 1878 in Birmingham. He married a Mary Anne Lemon HINES in 1898. Ernest then went to the Boer war in 1899 and we have no records of him after that. We know that Mary re-married in 1903 and have tracked her down in the 1901 census.

So far I have had no luck finding any of the GUISE family in the 1881 census. William, Alice or Ernest although we believe they should all be together.

Can anyone help?
