I, too, thought James R. Gulley might be son of George S. & Wilmoth Wilder Gulley but investigating it further my James R.Gully was in Benton Co., TN with wife and children in the 1860 census and George S. had a James R. living with him in the 1860 census in Greene Co., AR. This leads me to believe they're two different people.
There is some confusion over the age of James R., the son of George & Wilmoth, as in the 1850 census it is different than in the 1860 census. I don't believe I have looked at the actual census for 1850 so a transcriber could have picked it up wrong. That I will check.
Who is George S.'s father??? Maybe my James R. is from another son and your James R. is just named after my James R???? Looking forward to hearing from you.
