Hi again Glenda, I pulled my records on Gulley - Strange things happened: First Calvin Gulley age 23 and Ransom Gulley are listed in 1860 Census Benton TN - These are John G and Mary Carson Green Gulley's children. They would have been first cousins once removed to George S. Gulley
Second: The James Gulley - our subject is as you say in 1860 Benton Co Tn.
But also listed in 1860 Benton Co is D. B Gulley married to a Virginia with a child named Malissa. AND 1860 Greene Co AR D. B Gulley is listed under family of George S Gulley as is a James. I have traced D. B Gulley(as the David Listed in Census records.His daughter Malissa married a William McKelvy and they both show up in George Stevenson's court papers distributing his estate. The McKelvy's moved to Sebastian Co, AR. The mother Virginia died in Sebastian Co, Ar in 1900.
I didn't get the dates on either TN or AR 1860 census. Is it possible they were included in both -- However to answer my own question James's children were not included in the Estate Distribution of G.S. Gulley - and there were several pages of court records. But the D. B and David have to be the same. HUH?
