Hi Cathy: I am of the opinion that you are confusing two seperated lines of the Hermann,Harman,Harmon Families. Hans Peter was a Son of Jacob[1693-1764] and Catherina Hermann. He supposedly was born in Holland prior to immigration to the colonies. He supposedly married Margarett Choulyn a supposedly full Blood Indian of maybe Cherokee,Creek or Choctaw Indian lines. They being part of what is called "The 5 Civilized Tribes"of the south east America. Hans Peter was also a Brother to my line of Hans Johnne Hermann.Names Anglized to Harman/Harmon.I descend thru Hans Johnne thru Hans Jacob thru George and Eve Boyer/Bowyer who were the parents of George,John,Lewis,William and Isaac who are referre3d to as the "Adair Ky" Harmon's. Isaac being my GGGGrand Father. It would be very interesting if a Lineal Male [still carrying the harmon name] descendant of your families would participate in the Herman/Harman/Harmon DNA Testing,to see where the posibilities of your Family fit in. There was a group of "Harmons" from the Rowan Co.N.C. area not related to us that settled in Tenn/N.Ga area along with English Harmon's from New England who filtered down thru the years in to Ky,
Tenn and elsewhere which causes alot of confusion unless Records indicate thier Heritage. Try the DNA Testing approach,I for one would be interested. www.info@familytreedna.com will get you started.
