Hi Karen from Aiken...I found two Oscars who might end up being yours....one is son of John "Jack" Hartsell and Elizabeth "Betsy" Morton, born Oct. 9, 1870, died March 31, 1933 in Stanley County. Oscar married Flora Lilly Little, born December 20, 1873, died Nov. 23, 1951 (daughter of John Adam Little and Margaret Elizabeth Smith.
The other one is most likely who you are looking for...Oscar Goliath Hartsell, son of Adam Archibald "Arch" and Cenia Marie Barbee in Furr Township, Stanly Co. He was born March 13, 1891 and died October 31, 1959 in Concord, NC. Those are the only two Oscar Hartsells listed in the Hartsell History and Geneology who were born in Stanly Co. Oscar Goliath married Malinda Tucker, born Oct. 6, 1893 and died June 22, 1964. There are lots of kids and grandkids.
