Ontario Holms -- Niehls the Dane, Jan(?) his father

Hi,

I am searching for information on the ancestry of Niehls P. Holm, a Dane who immigrated to Ontario via New York. I've researched his descendants thoroughly, and now I'm trying to trace him back to Europe.

Neihls was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on Oct. 19, 1774. His father may have been named Jan.

Neihls married Anna Catherine Philips (dob Nov. 7, 1785) and settled in Ontario where he raised a large family; Neils Peter Holm, his son, is my ancestor.

I'm traveling to Ontario later this month to find the site of the old Holm Mill and the burial sites of Niehls and other members of my family. If anyone out there is linked to Niehls, let me know and I'll be happy to share my information and photos.
