"Henry Julius Holm was born March 18, 1913, at Lincoln County, Colorado, the son of Ludvig and Anna (Larson) Holm. He was baptized in Lincoln County. He then moved with his parents to the Chandler-Lake Wilson area where he farmed with his father. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Lake Wilson. He was united in marriage to Ethel Berg on Sept. 9, 1937. Together they farmed in the Boyd-Dawson area for 34 years. Ethel passed away on May 6th, 1971. Following her death Henry retired fram farming and worked for Lac Qui Parle County Highway Department for almost ten years. Henry married Gladys Wogstad on April 1, 1978. They spent 26 years together before Gladys passed away on October 18, 2004. Henry passed away on Monday, Feb. 20th, 2006 at the Granite Falls Manor at the age of 92.
He is survived by two daughters: Karen (& Donald) Pieper of Cottage Grove; Janice Goeman of Eden Prairie; one son, Jim (& Patty) Holm of St. Bonifacious; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Holm and Mavis Simonson and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, both wives, son-in-law Jerry Goeman, three brothers and three sisters; Lenora Van Klei, Thelma Hanson, Joyce Larson and brothers Oscar, Arthur and Harold.
The service was held at Granite Falls Lutheran Church on Friday, Feb. 24th."
