I am looking for information on Theodore HOWE b. 20 Aug 1887 Otisville, Orange Co, NY. Parents and siblings unknown at this point in time. Married Martha DEBOW b. Mar 1889 Staten Island, Richmond Co, NY, daughter of James DEBOW (d. 23 Jun 1890 Staten Island) and Alice BEVANS sometime after 1910 but before 4 June 1917.
In 1910 and possibably still at the time of Theodore and Martha's marriage, widow Alice DEBOW along with daughters Martha & Minnie, was living in Brooklyn, NY. Writing on the census image is very faded so I'm unable to determine the name of the street where they were living.
Theodore lists on his WW I draft card, 4 June 1917, that he is married and a fireman for the Erie Railroad. He and his wife, presumably Martha, are living 129 Hammond(?) St, Port Jervis, NY at this point.
On the 1920 census, Theodore and Martha are still living in Port Jervis at 162 East Main St. Also joining them in their household are Martha's mother Alice who has now remarried to Samuel SMITH. Theodore and Martha have no children at this point. Theodore is still a fireman for the Erie RR.
On the 1930 census, Theodore and Martha are still living in Port Jervis, now at 33 Franklin St. Theodore and Martha are still childless and Theodore is still a fireman for the railroad. Their houshold still includes Martha's mother, Alice now a widow for the second time. New to the household are Grace LAMBERT, the widowed older sister of Martha and Grace's son Albert LAMBERT along with two unrelated boarders, Emmet VAN TUREGEN & Edward CULLENAN.
Does any one recognize this Theodore HOWE? I am trying to find out:
What cemeteries are in the Port Jervis area where I might look for burials on Theodroe & Martha and Alice and Samuel.
When did Theodore HOWE die and where is he buried?
When did wife Martha die and where is she buried?
When did Martha's stepfather Samuel SMITH die and where is he buried?
When did Martha's mother, Alice DEBOW(1), SMITH(2) nee BEVANS die and where is she buried?
Any bits of information that could lead to answering the above questions would be appreciated. Thanks.
