Samuel A. Howe b. July 1st, 1807 Boston,MA. Settled in Livingston Co., NY in 1839. His wife was Emaline C. Nichols b. April 26th, 1816 Middlebury, VT. They were married Jan. 26th, 1836. Six children.

1.Harriet E. Howe (Mrs. Purdy) b. March 26th, 1837
2.Jonathan Howe b. Dec. 4th, 1845
3.Martha L. Howe (Mrs. Knowles) b. Nov. 9th, 1852

His father was Samuel Howe who served in the War of 1812
