Boggs Edmond HUFF Age 82 October 6, 2007 Davidson Age 82. Retired from the audio-visual industry after forty-nine years. Peacefully passed away at his home on October 6, 2007, following recent hospitalization for long-term heart disease. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mayme Overall Huff, originally from Murfreesboro; son, Stephen Edmond Huff (Lisa), their children, Kristen Kayla Huff and Matthew Stephen Huff of Brentwood; son, David Overall Huff (Diane) of Brentwood; sister, June McCallum (Tom) of Hendersonville; sister-in-law, Jean Thompson (William) of Whites Creek, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edmond J. Huff and Etta Boggs Huff, of Lynch, Kentucky, and a sister, Enid Chesshir (Haskell). He was a member of Crieve Hall Church of Christ and had served various congregations in several capacities, including song director, Sunday school superintendent, deacon, and minister. His compassion for the needs of others and his positive attitude were always unwavering. Professionally, Mr. Huff was a co-owner of Visual Education Company, a Vice President of Consolidated Media Systems, and was former President of the National Audio Visual Association. A State of Tennessee Collegiate Oratory Champion, he obtained degrees from David Lipscomb College and George Peabody College. He also attended Pepperdine University, where he was a member of Pepperdine's NAIA national championship basketball team, and played tennis. A life-long sports fan, he most enjoyed and was a loyal supporter of Vanderbilt University athletics. Funeral services 230 p.m. Tuesday, October 9th in Woodlawn Roesch-Patton's Dignity Hall with Bill Watkins and Jim Bill McInteer officiating. Visitation Monday, October 8th from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., and Tuesday, October 9th from 130 p.m. - 230 p.m. prior to service time. Active Pallbearers will be Dr. Sidney Allen, Don Chesshir, Mark Chesshir, Philip Chesshir, Randall Chesshir, Edmond Kizer, Thomas Kizer, and Julio Padilla. Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Chance, David Deathridge, Roger Deyhle, Lowell Hainline, Bill Hammond, Tom Hamner, Don Knight, Tom McCallum, J.W. Miles, Howard Putnam, Don Sandlin, Luther Self, Wavell Stewart, William Thompson, and Don Thornberry, the Elders of Crieve Hall Church of Christ, his numerous friends and former colleagues, and medical practitioners Dr. Bryce Dixon, Dr. Robert Christenberry, and Dr. George Crossley, who lovingly and skillfully extended his life of service to others.
