Hi all,
I'm helping a friend chase down her ancestors. We're currently looking for the family of Walter Richard Humphries b.16th Oct 1890 in Surrey, d. 21st Jan 1951 when Mt Lamington erupted in Papua New Guinea.
Walter married Ethel Frances Puxley in 1919 in Sydney NSW and Myra Blanche Hain in 1932 in PNG. His only descendant not killed in the eruption was my friend's grandmother, Rita Humphries, who married Kevin Kenny in 1942.
