Hungary is not an island nation. Pre-1920 it was about 4 times bigger than it is today. The territory that was lost is today in at least 6 neighboring countries.
In order to get information about any ancestors on the Continent you must know where they came from EXACTLY.
"FESCO" is pronouncable in English, German and Romanian but it's phonetically awkward in Hungarian or any of the numerous other languages spoken in the Kingdom of Hungary.
Before you attempt any research you should attempt to find out exactly how this gentleman spelled his name when he got off the boat.
