The short answer to your question is no, as unfortunately, birth records in Europe are almost always kept at the local (ie, town) level, so without knowing in which town your ancestor was born, you won't be able to find a birth record (or more correctly, a baptismal record). Remember that the Hungary of today is much smaller than that of the Austro-Hungarian empire of the 1800s.
