Connie,
Abod is in North Hungary, a near thousand years old village (we call village, what you call town).
The names, what you wrote are Slavic origined surnames, the firstnames are written in Hungarian language. There were settled a lot of Ruthenian people (the Slavs call them as Rusyn) to the area in the 17th - 18th Centuries, who escaped against the Tartars. They have been mostly Hungarians throw the Centuries (not assimililated, because for example the religions were saved, same the folklores)
Abod has a homepage: http://www.telefonkonyv.t-com.hu/tk/mtt.exe?FILE=advanced.htm&wy=WHITE
Sorry it is not in English, but if you click to the "képek" you can see pictures about your ancestors' land, and, if you want to develop a contact, click to the word "levélküldés". Can write in English.
Have a nice result!
Lajos Reich, Hungary (reichl@t-online.hu)
