Connie, in the first phases of your research the ethnicity of your ancestors is not interested in. The Historical Hungary was not as same country as eg the USA where you say: one countzry, one nation(ethnicity). The Historical Hungary was as country, as was a melting pot of the other nationalities, but not as same as the USA. Here the ethnicities could (and can) save their ethnical identities. In the same time, many of the people assimilated them selves, when lived in a surrunding of other nationalities. In this way have been Germans to be Hungarian, Hungarian to be Slovac etc. Nowadays Abod is a Hungarian village, and nobody interested ion about ethnicity. BTW these assimilatons happened not from year to year, but from hundred years to hundred years. May I ask you: accept my advise, and when you will know the place, area, fromwhere yours immigrated, you will see this question in the same way. By the wa, if you need, I can develop for you a contact to Abod. Naturally it is only a help, not for repayment. Greetings: Lajos Reich (Saxon origined) from Hungary Notify Administrator about this message?
