No relation. I just enjoy browsing through family Bibles up for auction on eBay and trying to connect any genealogical info to those that might find it of interest or worth pursuing. I am not the seller, nor do I intend to purchase. Unfortunately, links to eBay items only stay active for a couple months. Here is what I found:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=41188&item=6543161535&rd=1

According to a transcription done by the seller "diaries":
----------------------------------
“January 29th, 1886. The first of the name Hurlbut that I have any record of was Lieut Thomas Hurlbut appointed to command Fort Saybrook Cn in 1636 afterwards settled at Wethersfield 1640. His son Stephen Hurlbut settled at New London Cn between 1680 and 1690. Married Miss Douglass. Their children wee Frelove, Mary, John, Sarah, Titus and Joseph….Rufus born 1741 and killed at Fort Griswold in Graton Cn. Sept 6th, 1781….Amos born Nov. 10th 1770. Died Nov. 10th, 1832. He settled in New York and had three wives and a large family of children…..” I just picked random entries, but there are many like the ones I quoted.
