Thank you!! I've since found out that some genealogy is worked out in a book by Scott W. Berg, "Grand Avenues." I think Bertha Hurlbut Dougherty's son, or grandson, can't figure out which yet, married the daughter -- Mary Elizabeth Ellicott -- of Charles Ellicott and Marian Follett Ellicot, both of Maryland. They produced a son and daughter, George and Marion, and Marion was my mother.
Am brand new to this, so have a steep learning curve to figure out how to read census lists and find genealogies.
