Looking for the parents and siblings of George Monroe Hill, OR > IL > IO > Oregon. (Living with Jonathan Hill 1822, Jonathan Hill's wife Elizabeth and their daughter Savilla in IL in 1850. I have been researching the family of Clairborne Hill born 17 Apr 1803 Clairborne, Tennessee, died 12 May 1803 Brownsville, Linn, Oregon and his wife Mary Cate b 31 Mar 1805 Jefferson, Tennessee, died 16 Apr 1863 Brownsville, Linn, Oregon. George Washington Hill is in this family. In 1852, Clairborne and his wife Mary traveled on the Oregon Trail, most likely from Iowa to Oregon. Listed with them in my reference were a Mary Sophia Hill born CT, and her husband a G. M. not G. W. Hill married traveling without his wife, and an Ebenezer Hill also traveling without a wife. That same year other members of my family traveled to Oregon. In my family tree is a George Monroe Hill born 1825 either in Ohio or Indiana who was living in Illinois in 1850. He married Sarah Olivia Russell, the daughter of Dr. Alphesus Russell, and was the father of Lenora Nora Hill who married James Albert Stevenson (or Steveson), Mary Ellen Hill and I forget the 3rd daughter. Lenora Norah Hill and James Albert Stevenson were my great great grandparents.
