I'm looking for any info on a P.M. Shepherd. My great-great grandfather was Phillip Shepherd. In the 1850, 1860 and 1870 census, he was living with his family in Vigo County,IN. I've seen a listing of a P.M. Shepherd who was in the 111th Indiana Infantry during the Civil War. I'm wondering if anyone would have any info on this person to either prove or disprove that this might be my Phillip Shepherd. I believe that he was mustered into the 111th in Montgomery County. Is there a list in the local library or at the local historical society that might show something about this?
