I have an Asa Allen listed in my family tree. Here is the following that I have about him and his family:

He is a son of John C. Allen and Sarah Hiatt. Asa was born 1865 in Darlington and died 1900 in Montgomery County, probably in Linden. He married Mary Layton on 12/31/1896 in Linden. They had a son, Bernard M. Allen, born in 1898 who died in 1926. It's believed that Bernard was single when he died.

Mary remarried to Charles Stevens in 1921. Mary died in Linden in February 1971 about a month shy of her 98th birthday. Asa, Mary and Bernard are all buried at Linden Cemetery. Mary who also outlived her 2nd husband is buried as Mary Allen. The information was found in marriage and cemetery records at the Crawfordsville Library.

I am a descendant of the Layton Family.

I also have the following notes from census records:
According to the 1910 Census, Mary and her son Bernard Allen were living with her parents, Aaron and Elizabeth Layton in Linden, Montgomery County, Indiana.

According to the 1920 Census, Mary and her son Bernard Allen were living with her mother, Elizabeth Layton in Linden, Montgomery County, Indiana. Mary's father passed away a couple of months before the 1920 Census.

She is buried with her first husband Asa and son Bernard as Mary Allen at Linden Cemetery. Her second husband, Charles Stevens is also buried at Linden but in a different part of the cemetery.

The picture you have must be of a fairly young man in his 20's or early 30's. I'm going to take a look now at the picture on the website you mentioned when I finish this reply. It's always nice to be able to fit a face to information found and vice versa. I don't have any pictures of this family so I am curious to see what he looked like. Take care. Hope this helps you!
