Considering the location, and names, we may be distant cousins.
My father, Raymond Courtney Robertson, was the son of Harry Sidenor, m. Carrie Olena Courtney. (I have her gold ladies pocket watch)
The furthest Courtney I see, on the paper "tree" I have on the wall, is a William Anderson Courtney, 1849-. It looks like he had sons: Wm F., and a Joseph A.
My wife is the genealogist, and I am trying to trace just my Male line. I go back through Father, Raymond, to Harry then Allen, then Johnson Robertson, son of "Joseph Rainey Robertson, born in Scotland", and Susannah Johnson, m. 26 Nov 1795 in Madison Co. KY.
Johnson married Polly Ann Langston, daughter of Abraham Langston 16 Mar 1829, in Bourbon Co. KY
I am assuming that as Allen was in Montgomery Co IN and all the males down to my Dad were there (he was, but left when he married my mother, Kathryn F Zeigner.), that it is possible that Johnson was there too, when Allen was born.
I have my wifes family files in the computer, but can't open the FTM from here.
If it rings any bells, I can get her assistance on digging further. Use direct Email, as I may not be able to find your post again!
