Linda: Thanks for the message. Appreciate the feed back. Wish I could help too.

I do have a book called: DESCENDANTS OF AZARIAH DOSS AND HIS WIFE LYDIA (AYRES) DOSS. Written by Nathan Murphy. Published 1998. 110 pages. Azariah Doss a revolutionary war veteran. The Doss line actually goes back to a John Doss of Middlesex County, Virginia in the 1650s.

There is a notation in the book for Elisha S. Doss born abt 1817 Ky. and married Susannah Peterson 6 March 1839 in Montgomery County, Indiana. Children: John, Isabell, Melissa. (By the census in Montgomery County though, another son William is listed.)

Nothing more is written about this family. Where they went. Nor who Susannah Peterson's parents are. So I guess Mr. Murphy drew a blank on them too.

Sometimes difficult to get a complete list list of children's names, especially girls with parents, when they remain at home and only mentioned when they married.

Elisha is not my direct line; his brother Greenberry is.

I suppose an 1830 census is not available for Montgomery County?
