Tom, This is not my family, but doesn't it seem that Harriet could be a sister (or have some other close connection) to Jarret Weeks (1813-1877)? There are errors on the Noble Co genweb site, but I noted a couple of things there, and also put some odds & ends notes below. Good luck with your search. Jarrett Weeks (1813-1877, supposedly s/o Charles Weeks one of the first white men in Allen Co IN) named a daughter Harriet (1867-1918), and some of Jarrett's family also had events in Allegan County, Michigan where you found Richard & Harriet Campbell in the 1870 census record. An article in Noble Co IN genweb site, under Martha's page, mentions the death of Sherman Weeks, s/o Jarrett. Sherman It is stated in the same article that "Howard Campbell, another cousin, was driving over the Orange St. crossing when he was run down and killed by a fast train." Would Howard Campbell be your Harding G Campbell (he died 1886 leaving a widow and 2 small children)? Could he be a cousin to Sherman Weeks because Jarrett Weeks and your Harriet w/o Richard Campbell are siblings, or did you find some other explanation? You mentioned the John Weeks living with Richard and Harriet Campbell in 1850 - the age is off, but is he the same John Weeks living with Jarret Weeks in 1860, and is he the same John Weeks who died "at the residence of his brother in Albion July 11, 1874, aged about 56?" (see Noble Co obits). Jarret Weeks had a son Cornelius b 1847; though 1870 census shows he and wife are in Noble County, online info for the Hillside Cemetery, Gun Plains Twp, Allegan Co MI shows a: "Cornelious" Weeks d 11 June 1876 age 30y Thomas Weeks, s/o Jarret Weeks, was b IN, but at age 24 he married in Allegan Co MI to Hattie Miller (she was b IN, age 17 at time of marriage) - married 6 May 1882 Allegan Co MI. See LDS extracted marriage record for locality. When Thomas Weeks died in 1886, a Charles Campbell became guardian of his 2 young children. Isaac Breeden (b VA, age 26) and Nancy E Campbell (b IN, age 19) were married 24 Feb 1870 Allegan Co MI; one record shows Isaac "Bruden" and the marriage location at Gunplain Twp, Allegan Co MI. See LDS entries. Isaac and Nancy were in Albion IN in 1880 census (see Isaac "Braden." GENDIS shows deaths of two of the children of Richard & Harriet: Minerva Ann d 9 Nov 1870 Plains, Allegan Co MI 6y 5m; cause: fall from mill; b MI; p: R S A & Harriet Campbell. Harriet Campbell d 21 Dec 1871 Gun Plains, Allegan Co MI 15y 9m 13d; spotted fever, b IN; p: Richard & Harriet Campbell. IGI - Charles C Campbell b IN, age 22, & Leora Johnson, age 18, b MI, married 7 Feb 1880 Allegan Co MI (extracted mg record) Not sure if this connects: IGI Harold C Weeks b Allegan Co MI, age 28, and Rosa Mix b Connecticut, age 27, md 28 Oct 1874 Allegan Co MI (extracted record for locality listed) Notify Administrator about this message?
