That is my problem with Laura. As I said every record seems to indicate a different combination of parents, usually whomever she is associated with at the time. I have a copy of her marraige application to Ben Halterman and other records she would have filled out herself. I am leaning towards these documents over those filled out by other persons such as obits. In her Halterman application she lists her name as Laura Miller. Father: John T. Miller, Mother: Inez Jeanette Ritter. She lists her birthdate as 1889 which would make her birth 6 years prior to John and Jennies marraige. John's widow did give birth at that time and I have yet to find a record of a birth to Inez J. Porterfor 1898. When Laura later marries a Zentz she lists her parents as her Jennie and her current husband, W. Pittman. I am remaining openminded but I have as much or more documentation naming Laura as "Miller" asI do "Porter" or "Ritter". Thanks for your imput.I'll keep looking for the answer.
