Pamela -
Jeremiah Norton, Jr. and Betsey Robinson applied for marriage license June 10th 1830 in Perry Co. IN. There was no return.
This is possible scenario: "The county seat of Perry Co. at that time was at Rome and it was easier travel across the river than to get to the Breckinridge county seat. They might have taken that license to a local minister or Justice of Peace for marriage and he failed to file the return to the courthouse."
Those original Perry Co. records have disappeared from the county clerk's office, but you can get a copy of the record as it is on file at Perry Co. Clerk's Office, Perry Co. Courthouse, Tell City, IN 47586. Send $1 and SSAE.
Or see p. 49 in Perry Co. IN Marriages 1814-1852 by D. Leistner, published 1977, transcribed from the original books before they disappeared.
I hope this answers some questions for you.
