Jo, I'd like to discuss your Persinger interests. There was a Benjamin Persinger at Perry County on the 1820 & 1830 census who apparently was the one who married Martha West there in 1843. Believe that was her previously married surname so don't know what her maiden name was. Believe also that Benjamin Persinger had an earlier wife with whom had at least one child name Sophia about 1837. There was a James Persinger on the 1830 census at Perry County, then an Abraham was there in the mid 1800s. Hoping to determine anything more about these families. Did they connect to the Persingers of Washington & Jackson Counties. I know that Benjamin & Martha were at Jefferson County in 1850 and Christian Co, Illinois by 1860, where believe he died 1864, but I cannot find him on an 1840 census. Don't know what happened to James. Would like to know if Abraham was a son of James or Benjamin. And would like to know if Benjamin was brother of James. - Thanks, Allan Griffith, Bloomington, IL - magrif@verizon.net
