Hi!

I'm looking for any information that anyone would have on Comapany D 5oth Indiana Infantry that contained men from Putnam County. Specifically, I am interested in getting any info on a Thomas Smith who was a Private in Company D, enlisted Sept. 12, 1861. Per his Civil War cards from State Archives, he was charged with desertion March 25, 1862, but it was changed to AWOL. He a part of the Veteran Volunteers 50th Indiana Infantry, Company E in 1864 then became part of the reorganized 52nd Indiana Infantry, Company E on March 2, 1864. He mustered out at Montgomery Alabama on Sept 10, 1865.
