Daryl

Note that a Dan Powell and his wife Margaret (nee Hanrahan) migrated to Australia in 1853.

After residing around Geelong for a few years they went to the Ballarat goldfields for about 10 years and from the 1860's farmed in the Bungaree area (Clarkes Hill).

Dan died in 1896 aged around 72. His parents were James Hanrahan and Bridget Maroney.

Dan and Margaret married in Clare in 1851. Margaret came from (v certain) a place called Scalpnagown, Crusheen. They had 12 children in all.

I have been told that Dan Powell came from KnockJames.

Trust you find this of interest

sincerely

Maurice
