Hi,
I am trying to find out a little more about my ancestors. The only information I have is Michael McNamara, born abt 1832 in Corofin, County Clare. His parents were Mary/Margaret and his father was Patrick. Mary/Margaret was born abt 1809. I found a census record for a Patrick McNamara who lived at the Corofin workhouse (hospital) that fits - his mother named Kate and father named John.
Michael had a sister called Catherine, b 1848/51. Michael was convicted of stealing two cows and was transported to Australia on the 'Rodney'. When he was pardoned, he married and applied for his mother and sister to come out to Australia, which was approved. Does anyone else have any information? All help would be appreciated.
