Thanks, Ralph. I very much appreciate your efforts. Isaac may have not been actually born in Cork, just that it was said they came from there before coming to America. His son, Timothy James Hocter, born in Ireland abt. 1832 was my GGF. Timothy's wife whom he married here in America was from the Carnivar? area of Cork, Ellen Mary Murphy. This is documented. It was said they met on the ship coming over we think she came in through New Orleans. I have some vague clues that my Hocters may have been in or around the Allihies area or Kinsale but this could be false information. There are plenty of references to Hocter/or families in Tipperary, Laoghis, Offaly, even Antrim that I've seen but I haven't made any connection yet. Again, thanks.
