Ralph,
Thanks for your help. There are not many things I know for sure other than my gfather's parents were Ralph Griswold O'Brien Sr. (b:10 Nov 1888, Chester, PA) and Phyllis Bethel Smith (b:24 Feb 1895, NYC, NY). That lead me to R.G. Sr's parents - Denis Francis O'Brien (aka Danie Carren on some census records) (b: Aug 1855, Cleveland, OH) and Augusta W. Griswold (b: Sep 1854, Windsor, CT).

From there it gets harder, hence my recent questions. Denis' mother Mary Murphy (b: Dec 1823, Cork, Ireland) is listed on his census records as such, but I can find no concrete evidence of Thomas E. O'Brien (b: 1821, Cork, Ireland) other than member contributions without documentation. So for me it pretty much falls apart.

So again, I thank you for your help. I will continue to research to see if I can find something definitive.

Jay McAmis
