Are you sure abt the date of birth? If she left for NZ in 1870, she would have been 58. Having small children is RARE after age 50. Do you know if Mullin was her maiden name or husband's name? Was she born in Cork?

I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database for Mary Mullin (+variants) B 1812 +/- 4 yrs in Co. Cork. I found 1 B rcd in 1812, 1 in 1814 and 3 in 1815. This database covers abt 1/2 of Co. Cork and contains all surviving rcds for this area.
