Patrick H. Gallagher came to the USA in approximately 1857 (family tradition), he met Sarah Maloy on the boat over and they fell in love. Sarah Maloy was coming to America with her brothers. St. John's also lists baptism and other records for James Maloy and Catherine Carr Maloy. Roger Maloy and Margaret Walsh/Welsh were baptismal sponsors for Pat & Sarahs oldest child. Hugh and Margaret Hagerty Maloy, and Michael and Bridget (?) Maloy. I believe that these were (with Barney) Sarah's brothers who came over with her. Patrick H. and Sarah Maloy married June 11, 1863, in St. John's Catholic Church, Indianapolis, Indiana. According to the records of that church, his parents were John and Annie Kelway Gallagher and her's were Jacob and Bridget O'Gerry Maloy those same records state that Patrick was 26 and Sarah 25 at the time of thier marriage. In 1870 they were listed as both 33 and 35 (2 ennumerations). In 1880 he was listed as 50 and Sarah was 31? In 1909 at his death he was 65 and in 1910 at her death she was 69? On Feb 11, 1870, they had Pat Rogers, Robert Byers and Bridget Gallagher living them. In August of 1870 they had Barney Maloy and Owen Gallagher with them. At some point between 1863 and 1870 they 'brought over' his nephew Patrick B. Gallagher. Patrick and Sarah had 4 children Hanora b. 1864, Jacob b. 1872, Joseph Patrick b. 1874 and Mary Agnes b. 1877. Jacob was not included in the 1880 census, but I have not yet found his death record. Patrick was killed in January 1909, in Somerset Kentucky. He was brought home and buried in his nephews (Patrick B.) plot - and moved the next year to join Sarah Maloy Gallagher when she died. Is anyone else working on these Gallagher's or Maloys?
