My wife and I have been on a seven year search to uncover information about her maternal grandmother Annie Doherty. Background info is below and at the following web sites:
http://genforum.genealogy.com/scotland/messages/53693.html, http://genforum.genealogy.com/scotland/messages/53763.html, and http://home.comcast.net/~robneumer/wsb/index.html.

We obtained a copy of Annie's brother Denis Doherty’s death certificate. He died on March 25, 1984 at the Royal Infirmary in Manchester. Denis lived at 28 Thomson Road, Gorton, Manchester. His occupation was listed as a retired gravedigger. His son, Patrick Joseph Doherty, registered the death. He lived at 34 Harthill Drive, Luton, Bedfordshire - not far from London.

A search at Majesty's Court Service, District Probate Registry at Manchester resulted in a negative report for a will. We have made several messageboard postings in an attempt to contact Patrick Joseph Doherty and his relatives. #1 below is Patrick’s last listed address through 1984.

We believe that Annie's family returned to the Donegal area sometime after her brother Denis was born in 1903. We have ordered through LDS, microfilm for the Parish Churches in Donegal to attempt a trace on the parents who were married there in 1893. It appears that Annie brother's Neil and Denis left Ireland. Neil to the U.S. and Denis to Luton, England. Would appreciate help in a birth registration for a sister Bridget who we know died in the 1960s making her birthdate somewhere between 1907 and 1917. Also, would appreciate a death registration for her sister Mary who may have died sometime after 1903. Thank you!
