Looking for information on the McConnell's of Donegal County.

John McConnel born in County Donegal left Londonderry, Ireland on April 15th 1819 and arrived in Boston in May or June that same year. Upon arrival to America he renounced his allegiance to Queen Victoria. Sometime between 1819 and 1830 he arrived in Perry County, Pennsylvania were he was noted in the 1830 U.S. Census, residing in Buffalo Township with his wife and two children (one boy & one girl both under 5 years of age). By 1840, John and his wife (Rebecca Potter) had six children four boys and two girls.

There was also a Hugh McConnel born ca 1795 (who arrived at the same time also from Donegel).

Info from US Census 1830, 1840, 1850, 1860, 1870, and 1880. Perry County Court House Naturalization Records. Perry County Historical Society.
