Gillorran?? "near Ballyshannon, Donegal"

Hello All:

The army discharge papers of my 3rd-great-granduncle state he was born in "Gillorran near Ballyshannon, Donegal."

Can anyone tell me anything about this place? Does it still exist? Or was it perhaps an error for "Killoran"?

There is a Killoran parish in neighboring county Sligo, but I am unsure how far from Ballyshannon it might be.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks -

Patti
