Hello Cousin,
I botched the first reply - so will try again. I am the great granddaughter of William George Warnock (brother of John). I have been researching the Warnock family for a few years now. I believe that there were 8 children born to Hugh and Eliza (Morrison) Warnock of Grey Abbey, Ireland (now Northern Ireland). One child died at age 3 and the rest except Robert (childless) and Sarah (childless) left Grey Abbey.
For quite awhile all that I had to go on were obituaries from several of the brothers. Then late one night (kinda like tonight) I was clicking away on my computer and found a kind soul from the old country who did quite a wonderful job of finding information on the family - I am willing to share with you.
I am originally from Geneseo (three or four brothers are buried in Oakwood Cemetary there)and now live in Moline. Are you still in the Quad city area?
My biggest treasure is a 1905 postcard of the Grey Abbey ruins that my grandmother (Myrtle Warnock Yackley) probably got from her uncle James.
