Hello Barbara, I've just posted a similar message to Donald Howard who will also be in Co. Fermanagh in September. You make no mention of the denomination of your great grandfather ... I appreciate the next paragraph may not be applicable but I'll let it stand. Don't worry too much if he was a member of the Church of Ireland or the Presbyterian Church ... I feel that a visit to the Public Record Office should be included on your itinary when you are in Northern Ireland http://www.proni.gov.uk/records/church.htm The From Ireland website of Dr Jane Lyons of Dublin contains a page about Roman Catholic Parish Records in Co. Fermanagh and shows that PRONI hold a number of those records. http://www.from-ireland.net/parishrecords/ferm/fermindex.htm I'd suggest you might have a better chance of a reply by posting a message on www.enniskillen.com and also on a website called www.rootschat.com where you'll stand a slightly better chance of finding someone living in the area.
