Daniel Meehan Family, Skryne Parish, about 1855-60

In an 1892 obituary of my great grandfather's brother, he was said to have been born in Skreen Parish. I had thought that this was in reference to that parish in County Sligo. However, I have recently seen Skryne also spelled as Skreen. It's possible that the newspaper in the USA spelled the parish name phonetically, also a nearby train station was then known as Skreen. Would anyone have any information about a Daniel Meehan and his family living in Skryne parish in the 1850s? If so, I would appreciate learning of it.
