I searched the Irish Family History Foundation's database. It currently has abt 11,000,000 rcds. It has digitized abt 60% of all rcds for all Ireland. Rcds B4 1840 are sparse. Many BMD events were never rcd'd; others have been lost over time. The database MAY, or MAY NOT contain rcds on your ancestor.

For Laurence Flynn, B 1824 +/- 4 yrs, I get 2 hits. One is for the spelling "Flynn" in 1828, parish of Kinnegad. The other is on the name variant "Flin" in 1827, parish of Ballinabrackey. Both are in Co. Westmeath.

For Ellen Spillard/Spiller B 1825 +/- 4 yrs, I get 3 hits, all on name variants. 1 is in Westmeath, the others in Cork. There are 6 B rcds for Spillard (exact), 0 B rcds for Spiller (exact) B rcds, and abt 2,600 B rcds for all name variants in all Ireland for all years. There is a lot of uncertainty with this name. Confirm the name spelling and birth date if you can.

I estimate your chances of finding the right Flynn from the existing database at less than 40%.

For Ellen, the chances are even smaller.

Browse this database, but wait until it is complete before searching in detail. Note, if you view a detailed B rcd, it MAY show the names of the parents.
